MOH-Gaza receives a shipment of medical devices from ICRC
Ministry of Health in Gaza receives a shipment of medical devices funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). As part of the preparations and the precautionary measures taken by MOH to confront the COVID 19 virus pandemic.
General – Director of International Cooperation Dr. Abdel Latif Al-Hajj, said that the shipment carried devices and equipment for ICU. These devices are the most needed in Gaza Strip in light of the severe shortage in health facilities”, he added.

Director of ICRC in Gaza Mr. Ignacio Karsars confirmed that the shipment included ventilators, monitors, pacemakers, suction devices, and pumps, which are essential equipment for treating critical cases of COVID patients 19.
He pointed out that before the pandemic, Gaza was facing continuous serious problems affecting the quality of health care provided to its residents. As the health sector in Gaza contains about 110 ICU beds, and most of these beds are already occupied. There are only 93 ventilators in the ICU versus 2 million people.

Mr. Karsars called to urgently provide the health sector in Gaza, as several international organizations issued an international warning to warn from the fragility of the health situation in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian MoH – Gaza appeal to the United Nations and the concerned institutions to support the health sector in Gaza, and to pressurize the occupation authorities to end the suffocating siege that affected all humanitarian aspects of 2 million people.
