The Egyptian medical delegation concludes its mission in the Gaza Strip today Tuesday, after conducting 40 surgical operations, most of them were in the field of orthopedics and orthopedic deformities resulting from the injuries caused by the Israeli occupation against Palestinian civilians during their peaceful participation in the Great March of Return.

The delegation participated in orthopedics, traumatology, endoscopy, orthopedic surgeons and post-traumatic abnormalities, general surgery, internal medicine, cardiac surgery for the Palestinian patients at Shifa Medical Complex and  European Gaza Hospital.

Head of the Egyptian medical delegation Dr. Hesham Fargoul pointed out, that this is the delegation’s second mission from the Nile Hospital in Egypt to Gaza strip, emphasizing on the issue of  medical consumables and medical equipment shortage presenting in Gaza hospitals, noting that its availability will contribute to alleviate the suffering of patients and conduct many complex operations within Gaza Strip.

Gaza Strip suffers from difficult economic and humanitarian conditions since the imposition of the Israeli siege since 2006, due to the closure of all border crossings and the restrictions imposed on patients referred for treatment abroad.
