A Jordanian medical delegation concluded its mission with the successful completion of the fifth stage of kidney transplant operations at Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza City, in partnership with the local medical staff.
Dr. Ghazi Al-Yazji, Consultant and Head of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation at Al-Shifa Medical Complex said, one of the kidney transplant operations that was performed was a complex condition of a 14-year-old child who suffers from renal failer and suffers from a blockage of the veins of the upper limbs, abdomen, and pelvic veins. In this case, kidney transplantation was the only solution, and the operation was successfully performed.
Meanwhile, the operations were approved after tissue-compatibility tests in the West Bank city of Ramallah, in cooperation with the Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF).
Ministry of Health has implemented its first and second programs for kidney transplantation headed by the head of the artificial kidney department, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qishawi from the local staff and Dr. Walid Masoud from the Jordanian delegation to end the suffering of patients with kidney failure in the Gaza Strip.
