Local medical teams in the thoracic surgery department of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex successfully performed three major surgeries in partnership with a medical delegation from the occupied Palestinian territories, in coordination between the Palestinian Ministry of Health and Physicians for Human Rights.
Head of the thoracic surgery department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Dr. Raed Al-Oraini, said the mission, which lasted for three days, included laparoscopic removal of air sacs from the lungs, removal of a lump of the lower lobe of the right lung, and the removal of a lump from the middle chest cavity.
That they inspected 16 the operations that came after a series of inspections conducted by doctors in the department in partnership with the medical delegation, where 16 patients were examined and three operations were agreed upon during the current visit.
Dr. Al-Errani pointed to the importance of such delegations, where they participate in conducting these operations to alleviate the burden of traveling abroad, and contributing to bringing and enhancing medical consumables in hospitals, which are necessary to conduct such operations.
