Assistant Deputy Minister of Health chairs meeting to support AI health researchers

To direct health research to develop the quality of health services and maximize the use of research outputs related to health aspects, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health Eng. Osama Kassem, the Health Research Department, and the Health Information Center (PHIC) held a scientific meeting with several distinguished researchers interested in adapting artificial intelligence AI tools and systems to develop and improve the health and medical services provided by the Ministry of Health.

Where Eng. Osama stressed the importance of using AI tools and systems to support medical services and to enhance decisions making possess based on evidence. He stressed that MOH in Gaza urges researchers to develop these tools to serve auditors in various health specialities.

Mr Hani Al-Wahidi, Director General of the Palestinian Health Information Center (PHIC), referred to the essential role of AI and computerized systems in improving health data and maximizing the use of this data with the least effort and time possible.

During the meeting, Dr Suhail Al-Qarnawy and Dr Suhail presented their research studies and their objectives, which are related to chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer, as well as the methodology for conducting these studies.

Meanwhile, the director of the Health Research Department Dr Ali Al-Balbisi explained some administrative and technical controls and procedures that must be taken into account while conducting this research reliability and validity.

Eng. Loay Freija, following the PHIC department also participated in the meeting where he reviewed several available data related to the aforementioned scientific research and the department’s willingness to support these studies in various stages.
