Ministry of Health- Gaza warned previously about the fuel crisis and it consciences oh Ministry of Health facilities.
While there is no response to the appeals for fuel shortages yet from the concerned donors to supply any new amounts of fuel to MOH’s generators, therefore, a huge number of generators are about to stop. Health services at Bit- Hanoun hospital are at risk of interruption in a few days, which means depriving 35,000 people of the hospital’s and primary health care center’s services.
Bit- Hanoun hospital has three generators, one with a capacity of 400 kV and another 300 kV and a small generator with a capacity of 50 kV. The amount of fuel required for operation is 18000 liters of per month, in addition to the availability of solar energy that feeds the hospital with 30 kV of electricity.
The continuation of this crisis affects the work of medical personnel in the hospital and impose a state of confusion to the services quality provided to the patients, which means postponing surgeries, blood tests and the work in Radiology Department.
At these difficult moments, MOH-Gaza calls for all those concerned donors to quickly and consistently provide fuel, so we do not have to announce that we stopped our hospital services again.
