Child Health Committee supports health services provided to children and adolescents
Headed by the Deputy Ministry of Health, Dr. Yousef Abu Al-Rish, the National Committee for Child Health held a meeting to discuss the committee’s efforts to improve the quality of health services provided to children in the Gaza Strip.
The attendances reviewed the framework implementation of the child health program in the strategic plan of the Ministry of Health, which would reduce indicators of neonatal mortality in health facilities in the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Abu Al-Rish emphasized the need to build- up a health registration system for diseases that affect children after birth, this information is meant to provide an accurate health database that would provide the necessary information needed to improve health indicators related to reducing neonatal mortality rates.
Dr. Abu Al-Rish praised the committee’s efforts related to early childhood development, adolescent nutrition, and the development of school health in terms of national protocols and policies.
It is noteworthy that the Gaza Strip witnessed an increasing interest by the Ministry of Health in health-provided services to mothers and children, which in turn was reflected by decreasing mortality rate for newborns.
