Press release issued by the Ministry of Health – Gaza
Developments of the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip – Day 9.

Two hundred and seventeen (217) Palestinians have been killed, including 63 children, 36 women, and 16 elderly people. There are 1500 wounded.

Direct targeting of the Ministry of Health’s facilities stopped the central laboratory’s services for the second day, including Coronavirus testing, COVID-19 vaccinations, pregnancy services, and telemedicine.
The Medical Relief Foundation’s laboratory is being invested to provide coronavirus testing to travelers only due to the laboratory’s limited capacity.

Israeli forces targeted densely populated residential areas, displacing 40,000 families to shelters. These overcrowded shelters are now a dangerous environment for the rapid spread of COVID-19.

We call on the international community to provide full protection for health care facilities in Gaza Strip.

We call on health and humanitarian organizations to provide critically needed personal protection equipment supplies to the shelters to limit the spread of COVID-19.
