In a Groundbreaking surgery in the Gaza Strip, a local team used TPA in emergency cerebral catheterization.
The local medical team, headed by Dr. Mohamed Habib, Head of the Cardiac Catheterization Department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, managed to dissolve the stroke of two patients in their fifties using a new drug, Tissue plasminogen activator, then followed by an urgent cerebral catheterization was performed through the brain’s arteries.
Dr. Habib explained that the two patients were suffering from a stroke, which led to their inability to speak and paralysis in their peripherals.
Dr. Habib first injected the treatment and then performed a catheterization of the cerebral arteries both patients were able to talk and move their limbs completely.
Dr. Habib expressed his appreciation to Al-Makassed Charitable Hospital for donating TPA treatment to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, as Dr. Habib thanked the participating medical staff.
