On the Indonesian hospital ICU bed in the northern Gaza Strip, 32 years old Ahmed Abu Al-Qumsan’s health is gradually improving, after he survived Covid 19 infection, his health improvement is due to the huge efforts made by the medical staff of the hospital.

Abu Al-Qumsan, who lives with one lung due to a previous injury during Al- Aqsa Intifada, and when he got infected with coronavirus he went through serious health complications.
In an interview with Abu Al-Qumsan, he said: “ I do not know how I got the infection and all I remember before I woke up in the ICU that couldn’t breathe, severe exhaustion, and hyperthermia, then I lost consciousness completely”.

Head of the intensive care unit at the Indonesian hospital, Dr. Medhat Abu Tabanga said that the patient Abu Al-Qumsan arrived completely unconscious due to the severe infections in his single lung and the inability to breathe.

“The patient was urgently transferred to the ICU, where he was placed on a ventilator, and went through intensive treatment following the protocols approved by the Ministry of Health, as his health condition began to improve little by little until he was disconnected from the ventilator”, Dr. Abu Tabanga added.

According to Dr. Abu Tabanjah, there are several cases like Abu Al-Qumsan and despite the drug crisis that the ministry of health in Gaza strip, covid -19 mortality rate is the lowest in the world.

As We were preparing to leave the ICU, Abu Al-Qumsan too was leaving, at the end of the interview, he called everyone to comment on the prevention measures and do not leave their homes unless in extreme necessity.
