Deputy minister Dr. Yousef Abu al-Rish, received a delegation of doctors from Mar Youssef hospital coming from the occupied Palestinian territories, who arrived in Gaza Strip to conduct a number of surgical operations in the Ministry’s hospitals within the regular delegation’s program organized by Physicians for Human Rights.
The delegation included Thoracic Surgery Consultant Dr. Maher Deeb, the medical director of Mar Youssef Hospital and Head of Urology Department at the hospital Dr. Wael Arafa,
Dr. Mahmoud Badria, General Surgery Consultant, and Dr. Jamal Gharghouzi, Head of ENT Surgery, who arrived in the Gaza Strip carrying medical supplies and consumables needed to conduct a number of surgical operations in Al-Shifa hospital and Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital during their stay from Sunday until Tuesday, 6/11.
Dr. Abu Rish discussed a number of common issues with the delegation, including the possibility of organizing training courses for doctors in the Gaza Strip through a medical education program to promote doctors skills and to give them new experiences.
Dr. Abu Rish expressed his appreciation for the delegation great efforts exerted by the doctors of Mar Youssef Hospital, and Physicians for Human Rights to support the health sector in Gaza and to assist patients suffering from the siege implications and restrictions.
Form his part, Dr.Maher Deeb said that Mar Youssef Hospital is one of the hospitals that received the largest number of wounded in the Gaza Strip and that doctors are always ready to stand by their people in the Gaza Strip and provide all they can to assist them.
