In front of Al-Remal Health Center ‘s Primary, Om-Ibrahim Jabr came with her husband waiting to get their diabetes medications, after the Palestine National Diabetes Program for diabetics in the Gaza Strip provided a shipment of medicine. Sadness appeared on Om-Ibrahim face after leaving the pharmacy, unlike her husband who received his drug dosage from insulin, she was not fortunate enough to have her own medication ” type 2 diabetes”, which has not been available in Gaza’s health facilities for months.
while talking to the Om- Ibrahim, she told us that her health is deteriorating day by day and she is losing her sight, and she cannot afford to buy her medication because of the difficult economic conditions, she added that her family can barely provide her daily food. Om-Ibrahim urged the concerned institutions to provide medications for patients like her, to avoid complications.
the unprecedented deficit in the lists of primary health care medicines is (100 out of 143) with a percentage of 70%. while there are 16 categories threatened with depletion over the next three months, and that will increase the suffering of patients who can no longer get their medications from primary health care centers.
