Ministry of Health- Gaza, and Physicians for Human Rights support Mental health frontline workers
MoH, in partnership with Physicians for Human Rights, held a scientific day for frontline workers in the mental health program, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the mental health services provided to citizens, especially in times of emergency and Israeli aggressions.
The meeting, which was held, Thursday, in Gaza City, came with the broad participation of health teams working in the Ministry’s facilities and health workers in the Gaza Strip.
Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Yousef Abu Al-Rish was represented by Director General of Mental Health in MoH, Dr. Yahya Khader who praised Physicians for Human Rights for their efforts in supporting the health sector.
Dr. Khader, said, “after any Israeli escalation in Gaza, medical staff, firefighters, ambulance drivers, and others frontline workers are left to manage and overcome the traumatic events experienced and the subsequent extreme stress and pressure that they felt, and to help ensure their well-being and health, the Physicians for Human Rights and the MoH launched the this event”.
Director of President of Physicians for Human Rights, Dr. Salah Al-Hajj Yahya stressed that his organization continues to support to the Palestinian health system in the Gaza Strip, pointing out that developing the Palestinian health sector is one of the organization’s main priorities.
