Ministry of Health – Gaza, the percentage of rehabilitation of physiotherapy cases reached 100%
MOH- Gaza, Department of Physiotherapy in the Al-Shifa Medical Complex dealt with 13,000 cases during the past year 2019, and the number of sessions reached 48,000 treatment sessions distributed among the inpatients and outpatients.
Head of the Physical Therapy Department at Al Shifa Medical Complex Dr. Ahmed Al-Najjar Iqbal stated that “ physiotherapists are specialized and well-trained to evaluate and treat patients in the departments of internal medicine, general surgery, and pediatric departments since our work interferes within different departments like burns, outpatients, nervous, orthopedic, and internal medicine.”
Pointing out that 70% of the cases that are being treated suffer from lower back and neck pain (cervical and lumbar disc), in addition to cases of fractures, strokes, and burns, noting that the physiotherapists are following up the latest research and scientific studies updates in the field of physical therapy through the continuing education program.
