Ministry of Health Launches the Second International Conference on Nursing and Midwifery

The Palestinian Ministry of Health, in partnership with several international health organizations, launched its second International Conference on Nursing and Midwifery under the slogan “Specialized Nursing and Midwifery for Quality Health services.”

Deputy Ministry of Health, Dr. Youssef Abu Al-Rish, expressed the ministry’s interest in the continuous development of the quality of health services, of which nursing and midwifery services are one of its main pillars, pointing out that his ministry considers the nursing service as a link between the various components of health work.
In turn, the Conference chairperson and Director General of Nursing, Dr. Khalil Shaqfeh talked about the challenges imposed on the ministry of health to improve the quality of health workers and enhance the services provided to patients.

Dr. Shaqfeh pointed out that the scientific committee of the conference received more than 69 practical papers that were diverse among many of the surrounding countries, and they were presented to the arbitration committees 38 scientific papers were selected, of which 22 will be presented during the first, second and third sessions.

The conference also included speeches for the international organizations supporting the health sector in Palestine, where they praised the development process on the human level and the structural staff in health facilities in the Gaza Strip, and that the conference comes to reflect this development in the improvement of health services.

The conference includes five scientific sessions, the first and second of which are about midwifery and obstetrics, while the third scientific session is under the title Nursing surgery and medicine, the fourth scientific session will discuss public health nursing, and the fifth session will discuss nursing and mental health.
