MOH arranges a scientific day on breast cancer and early detection mechanisms within the activities of Pink October
The Scientific Committee of the General Administration of Primary Health Care, in cooperation with all national partners and supporting bodies, organized a scientific day on breast cancer, with the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), as part of the activities of the Ministry of Health to celebrate Pink October.
The Director-General of Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Maher Shamiya, said during the event that the utmost important goal for PHC is the early direction of breast cancer, to improve its health services provided at the primary, and secondary stages.
Director of the United Nations Population Fund Office in Gaza Osama Abu Aita praised the national efforts to combat breast cancer under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health, calling for more coordination and effective partnership at all levels.
Various scientific papers were presented and discussed regarding early detection programs, mammograms, Covid-19 vaccination for cancer patients, and breast surgery.
The event was concluded by Dr. Fawaz Abu Ziada’s presentation on the importance of psychological support for breast cancer patients and survivors.
