MOH – Gaza: Al-Aqsa Hospital receives PCRF pediatric urology delegation
Today, Thursday, the PCRF Chilean delegation began carrying out a series of complex surgeries of pediatric surgery and pediatric urology in cooperation with the local medical staff at Al-Aqsa Hospital.
Dr. Nidal Wishah, head of the pediatric surgery department at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, in partnership with the delegation, examined about 100 patients.
According to Dr. Jose Antonio, the group of 6 medical personnel, consisting of two consultant doctors in urology and a general-pediatric surgeon, accompanied by (four) nurses, anesthesiologists, and operating technicians, in partnership with the local team shall perform about 60 surgeries by the end of this week.
Dr.Antonio noted that this is the deligation’s fourth visit to the strip, adding that his team, in cooperation with the local team, performed several complex operations during the past years, which achieved very excellent results.
Dr. Jose expressed his admiration for the local team and the modern medical equipment available at Al-Aqsa Hospital, noting that the local team is very committed and willing to learn, where they acquire new skills, which is among the main objectives of the medical mission.
The visit of the medical delegation comes in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Palestine Children’s Relief Society (PCRF) to attract surgical medical personnel in various specialties, to support specialized surgical services.
