MOH-Gaza inaugurates an oxygen generator station in Al-Shifa medical complex

Ministry of Health inaugurated medical oxygen generator station in Al-Shifa medical complex within the project of emergency response to the health needs resulting during Covid 19 pandemic in the Gaza Strip.
The station was donated by the Medical Aid Society for Palestinians (MAP) and funded by the Humanitarian Fund for the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Yousef Abu Al-Reesh stressed the importance of this new station, as it arrived in the middle of the second wave, thus increasing the rate of medical oxygen needs for the intensive care units for severely ill cases.
Dr. Abu Al-Rish appreciated MAP and the Humanitarian Fund for the Occupied Palestinian Territory for this estimated support and the urgent response to health needs.
Meanwhile, MAP office director, Prof. Shaltout stated that the station would greatly assist in compacting the pandemic in the largest hospitals of Strip.
As mentioned by the Director-General of Engineering and Maintenance department in MOH-Gaza Eng. Bassam Al-Hamdeen said that the production capacity of the new generator is 470 liters per minute, which means an increase in the oxygen demand.
Director-General of International Cooperation, Dr. Abd al-Latif al-Hajj said that the new station is a culmination of the efforts made by the Ministry of Health to trace the epidemiological situation in the Gaza Strip.
The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Humanitarian Fund for the Occupied Palestinian Territory in Gaza, Mr. Noel Tsikueras, several general directors in the ministry, and the media outlets in the Gaza Strip.
