The Palestinian Ministry of Health inaugurated the project of ” Renewable solar energy project for All” funded by the Japanese government and implemented by UNDP office in Gaza, in the presence of the Japanese ambassador Mr.Takashi Okombo, Director of the UNDP office in Gaza Ms. Chitos Noguchi, Director General of International Cooperation, Dr.Ashraf Abu Mahadi Director of the International Cooperation Department , and, Director of UAE Crescent Hospital Dr. Walid Madi.
The Renewable Energy for All project aims to provide solar energy in several hospitals in the Ministry of Health to operate some vital departments. Dr. Abu Mahadi clarified during his speech that the amount of fuel consumed will be dropped from half a million liters per month to 150 thousand liters per month, adding that the Japanese government has contributed to improving and supporting operating expenses through the support of the revolving campaign for the Palestinian patient fund with $ 1 million for the support of medicine and medical supplies.
There is also a project to improve diagnostic services during the coming period, a project with a budget of $ 10 million. The Japanese ambassador stressed that his government is working to provide energy supplies using the solar system, in order to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of health service provided in all hospitals. While Ms. Chitos Noguchi confirmed that the Japanese government has provided 85 kilowatts via solar energy projects to support hospitals
