MOH – Gaza launches the National strategy for sexual and reproductive health
The Ministry of Health launched the National strategy for sexual and reproductive health in the southern governorates, the ceremony was headed by Dr. Yousif Abu Alrish, Chairman of the National Committee for Reproductive Health, Director General of the Planning Unit and Head of the Strategy Preparation Team, Dr. Ahmed Shatat, member of the National Committee for Reproductive Health, consultant to the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abd al-Razzaq al-Kurd, Director of the United Nations Fund Office in Gaza UNFPA, Mr. Osama Abu Aita, in the presence of general managers, and with the participation of health work partners from international and local institutions.
Dr. Alrish stressed the importance of strategic planning to contribute to the success of the Ministry’s work.
According to Dr.Ahmed Shatat, the strategy for sexual and reproductive health was prepared with national efforts based on expertise.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Kurd consultant in the ministry of health stated: “We look forward to providing the highest levels of service for reproductive health, reducing morbidity, mortality, disability, and malnutrition, and to reach a service revolves around the beneficiaries.
The director of the UNFPA in the Gaza Strip, Mr. Osama Abu Eita considered The National Strategic Plan for sexual and reproductive health as an approved reference for building strategic and operational plans and working accordingly.
