MoH – Gaza: More than 1,300 urgent surgeries performed during the COVID-19 pandemic

In an interview with Mr. Hany Salama, Director of Operations and Outpatient Clinics at the General Hospital Administration, Gaza Strip hospitals performed more than 1,300 urgent surgeries performed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of these operations were classified as major operations.
According to Mr. Salama: the planned operations are scheduled to resume within the preventive and safety measures.
Meanwhile, MOH will begin notifying citizens who have had appointments for major surgeries to start the preparations measures.
He pointed out that the citizens whose operations are scheduled to be performed will undergo tests at respiratory screening centers located in every hospital to ensure that they are COVID-19 free.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Health has taken a series of measures to keep health facilities safe during the pandemic. These measures included preventing visits, establishing respiratory screening centers, and limited movement between medical departments.
