MOH – Gaza: More than one million citizens visit primary care services in the first half of 2022

According to the report issued by the General Administration of Primary Health Care (PHC)in the Palestinian Ministry of Health, more than one million and forty-eight thousand citizens benefited from the services provided by PHC centers across Gaza governorates during the first half of 2022.

The average number of visits to general medicine services amounted to about 739,000, while the number of visits to specialized clinics reached more than 307.5 thousand.

The report indicated that visits to specialized clinics varied between visits to maternity clinics, which amounted to more than 98,000 visits, to chronic diseases clinics, which amounted to more than 73,000 visits. Where visits to dental clinics, amounted to about 76,000 visits, and dermatology clinics amounted to more Than 59 thousand visits in the last six months.

In addition to providing medical services, the report pointed out that PHC centers provided more than 452,000 nursing services, about 358,000 laboratory examination services, and 11,500 radiology services.

In terms of Covid vaccinations, the report indicated that 127,600 people were vaccinated during the first half of 2022, while more than 93.3 thousand samples were taken to test Covid virus during the same period.
