The Deputy Director-General of Primary Care for Public Health Affairs Dr. Majdi Dhuhair announced that there are no confirmed cases of 2019-nCoV that were registered in the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Dhuhair stated that the Ministry of Health in cooperation with WHO has taken several preventive measures regarding returnees which are represented by putting them under quarantine to control the various outbreak.

“MOH- in Gaza has formed a committee to monitor and control the development of the disease globally and to take the necessary arrangements locally, to establish a quarantine center at the Rafah crossing point that will provide health facilities, and to provide medical teams to directly examine returnees from China, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Iran through a thermal monitoring device at the arrival hall and provide instructions,” Dr. Dhuhair said.

Dr. Dhuhair added that the center hosted five citizens, and they will stay until the expiration of the virus incubation period, which is 14 days since they left China according to the recommendations of the WHO stressing that they are in good health.
