The Director General of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, received a diplomatic delegation of European Union ambassadors.

The delegation toured the hospital departments and met with several wounded people from the recent aggression on Gaza, who are still receiving medical treatment in the complex.

Dr. Abu Salmiya explained the overall health situation in the complex and the medical staff’s efforts to provide health care to regular patients and wounded alike.
The crisis is worsening, where there is a serious shortage of necessary capabilities to complete therapeutic and surgical interventions, and the Gaza Strip is still deprived of 40% of medicines, 32% of medical consumables, and 60% of laboratory supplies, Dr. Abu Salmiya added.

According to Dr.Abu Salmiya, the occupation forces imposed inhumane restrictions on the patients’ movement and the wounded referred for treatment abroad, preventing the entry of diagnostic medical devices.
The Israeli attacks left various vital sectors in Gaza, especially the health sector in need, which causes worsened Chronic health and humanitarian communication since the imposition of the siege on the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Abu Salmiya called on the humanitarian and international institutions to take serious measures, away from emergency solutions.
