The kidney transplant team at Al-Shifa Medical Complex began this morning, Saturday, by conducting the first operations of the 29th stage of the first national kidney transplant program, with the participation of a kidney transplant consultant at the Royal Liverpool Hospital in Britain, Dr Abdel Qader Hammad.

The Director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Dr Muhammad Abu Salamiya, stated that it is expected that the surgical teams, in partnership with the British medical delegation, will carry out about four new kidney transplants, pointing to the significant and efficient contribution of the local health staff in conducting operations and localizing the service.

Notably, the number of kidney transplant operations within the first kidney transplant program, which began in 2013, amounted to 86 transplant operations, all of which were successful.
