MOH-Gaza: The Engineering, and Maintenance Department completes structural projects with $ 52 million during 2020
According to the latest update of the Palestinian Health Information Center (PHIC), the Engineering and Maintenance Department has completed several projects with a total cost of 52 USD million during 2020.
The Director of the General Administration of Engineering and Maintenance, Engineer Bassam Al-Hammadin, said that the department supervised several projects; Such as operating and maintaining the electromechanical and medical systems, maintenance of buildings and infrastructures, firefighting systems and lighting in hospitals, operation of oxygen stations and others.
Eng. Al-Hammadin: “The European Gaza Hospital was the focus of our recent work during the Coronavirus pandemic, by implementing a new system known as the (safe zone), this system meant to control the entry and exit of medical staff and patients to minimize infection.”
Eng. Al-Hammadin added that the medical gas system has been rehabilitated and extended, ICU beds have been provided, in addition to increasing the oxygen pumping rate to 3800 liters per minute after it was 800 liters per minute.
The department worked on equipping and completing several building such as the Turkish hospital, maternity building in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, Muscat health care in Jabalia, and Muscat health care Al-Rahma in Al-Shujaiya, Noura Al-Kaabi Dialysis Center in the northern Gaza Strip, in addition to building two floors in the Indonesian hospital, and the establishment of a dialysis building at Nasser Medical Complex.
