MOH-Gaza, UNFPA, concludes the Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign.

The Ministry of Health in Gaza, in cooperation with UNFPA, concluded the series of Pink October Breast Cancer Awareness Activities, funded by the Government of Japan.

The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Mueen Al-Kariri, Director of the Health Education Department, Dr. Ahmed Muhanna, Director of M Al-Awda, and Sama Rizk Al-Sahar, UNFPA Projects Coordinator at the Ministry of Health.

During the ceremony, a number of cancer survivors and official figures opened an exhibition for the handicrafts and foods produced by the survivors through the Bent Al Reef Association, the products were marketed for survivors’ benefit.

Al-Kariri stressed the importance of the partnership with the non-governmental institutions, particularly the Union of Health Work Committees.

Mrs. Khadija Kilani, director of the Bent Al-Reef Association, called for more support and economic empowerment for women, especially cancer survivors.
