MOH-Gaza, WHO discussing emergency departments’ rehabilitation
The Director General of International Cooperation and Projects, Dr Marwan Abu Saada, met with World Health Organization
representative Dr Thanos Athanasios in Gaza to discuss emergency departments’ rehabilitation in Gaza Strip hospitals.
During the meeting, Dr Abu Saada presented the delegation with the health scene in light of the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip, and the Ministry of Health’s performance to enhance work in these departments in cooperation with its partners, especially regarding the medical supplies and developing the medical caders efficiency.
Dr Abu Saada also tackled the issue of the prevented medical devices by the Israeli occupation of the Gaza Strip for more than a year and a half, which adds to the challenges posed on the medical caders performing their duties.
Meanwhile, Dr Abu Saada appreciated the qualitative interventions implemented by WHO, which contribute to improving the quality of health services.
During the meeting, they discussed the first phase of the project to develop the emergency department in the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, which is expected to start soon.
