Ministry of Health delegation, represented by Dr. Medhat Muheisen, Assistant Deputy Minister of Health, visited the Qatari medical delegation specialized in cochlear implants represented by Dr. Abdul-Salam Al-Qahtani, Head of ENT and Cochlear Implants at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and board member of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS)at Al-Quds Hospital. Commenting on the seventh visit by the Qatari medical delegation to Gaza, Dr. Muheisen, “we praise the Qatari delegation performance of 24 cochlear implants.
Consequently, the total number of children who benefited from the cochlear implant program reached a total of 143 since its commencement in 2016”. “Looking ahead, we are planning to rely totally on Palestinian surgeons in Gaza to perform cochlear implants. During the current mission, the local team was given a greater opportunity to take part in the operations, with guidance from the Qatari physicians,” Dr. Muheisen revealed.

These operations are carried out at the Palestine Red Crescent Society Hospital and under the implementation of His Royal Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prostheses – Qatar Reconstruction Committee – Gaza Qatar Development Fund.
