MOH, Successful Hysteroscopy Operations In The Gaza Strip

Hysteroscopy is an alternative to traditional laparotomy surgeries, which causes patients, infections, adhesions , and longer admission period at the hospital, most of all it wastes human and material resources.

Director of the maternity hospital Dr. Hani Mahdi said that “we conducted 1200 Hysteroscopy since the beginning of 2015, with mild complications, in cooperation with the Norwegian Foundation “Norwak” “.

For the first level there is a team composed of four doctors, two nurses, and an anesthesiologist was initially trained, for exploration surgeries, and for the second level they started surgeries like (ovarian cystectomy, Ectopic pregnancy, Endometrial endometriosis), and after one year they developed the program to the third level to conduct surgeries such uterine leiomyoma, and hysterectomy, right now three new doctors were crewed to be trained for the first and the second level.

Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialist at Al-Aqsa Hospital Dr.Ayman al-Masri, who works in Hysteroscopy team, said that ” there is a huge difference in terms of treatment and healing compared to traditional surgical procedures, where diagnosis and treatment is conducted at the same time, especially diagnosing and treating infertility, and uterine deformities (fibers – corne uterine‏) this year 80 cases were performed at Al-Aqsa Hospital.
