MOH: The national medical team performs 11 complicated cochlear implant

The national medical team headed by Dr. Muhammad Murad, Head of the Cochlear Implant Program at the Ministry of Health, managed to conduct 11 complicated cochlear implant operations, under the supervision of the Qatari medical delegation, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Hadi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hamad Hospital for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation.

Dr.Murad explained that over the course of three days, the operations were performed with a high success rate without recording any complications, as the operations were carried out under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Qahtani, Consultant and Head of the Otolaryngology Department at Hamad Medical Corporation.

Dr.Al-Qahtani pointed out that the operations required careful intervention, being one of the complicated cases, and thus the total number of cochlear implant operations that have been performed since the localization of the service is 111 operations.

In turn, Dr. Abdul Hadi stated that the operations conducted by the Palestinian medical staff led by Dr. Muhammad Murad have restored hope for many children who have lost their sense of hearing.

Dr. Abdul Hadi pointed out that the visit of the Qatari medical delegation comes as part of the training and development visits sponsored by the Qatari Ministry of Health and Hamad Medical Corporation, which aim to improve the performance of medical staff, improve the quality of services provided at Hamad Hospital, and support the health sector in Palestine.
