Ophthalmology Hospital serves 1,600 surgical operations during the first half of 2021

According to the report issued by the Ophthalmology Specialist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, the surgical teams performed more than 1,600 surgeries during the first half of this year 2021, including 600 major surgeries, 200 minor surgeries, and several highly skilled surgeries.
Dr. Hossam Daoud the Hospital director stated during a meeting, on Wednesday, that the Emergency Department received during the first half of 2021, more than 40,000 cases from various governorates of the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, Dr. Daoud praised the generous donation from Jordan by supplying glass eyes, which are used as a compensatory part to improve the shape of the eyes for those who lost their eyes during accidents or Israeli attacks.
It is worth mentioning that the Hospital provides its services to about 2 million citizens, including a variety of therapeutic and surgical services for various diseases. Moreover, several advanced services are served using laser technology, especially for patients with retinopathy.
