The orthopedic Spanish medical delegation concludes its mission in the Gaza Strip, after conducting 13 surgical operations, for pediatric orthopedics and orthopedic deformities.
The delegation participated in orthopedics for the Palestinian patients at European Gaza Hospital and screened at least 60 cases on the first day.
Head of the delegation Dr. Jose Antonio pointed out, that this delegation’s first mission to Gaza strip, emphasizing the issue of the rare injuries that occur as a result of the Israeli occupation aggression against Palestinian civilians during their peaceful participation in the Great March of Return.
Consumables and medical equipment shortage presenting in Gaza hospitals encouraged the delegation to bring some medical consumables used in these surgeries. It is worth mentioning that Gaza Strip suffers from difficult economic and humanitarian conditions since the imposition of the Israeli siege since 2006, due to the closure of all border crossings and the restrictions imposed on patients referred for treatment abroad.
