Senior consultant of Urology Dr. Walid Massoud who headed the team to conduct these operations said that “the delegation mission involved training the local medical teams to be able to conduct these operations themselves in the coming stages”.
Two of the patients, “Abu Ahmed Bakhit and Maysura” who have undergone kidney transplant did not imagine that the long journey that they have undergone in treatment and obtaining a new kidney will be confronted by the shortage of post transplantation immunosuppressive drugs.
The crisis facing the health facilities in Gaza regarding the immunosuppressive drugs exceeded 68%, according to the latest statistics issued by the Ministry’s General Pharmacy Administration .
