🚨 Press conference for government and private hospitals in the Gaza Strip regarding Israeli evacuation orders
▪️The Israeli attack on the Al Ahli Baptist Hospital is a massacre. Whether this massacre is the result of premeditation or reckless endangerment of the civilian population, the Ministry holds Israeli forces fully responsible. The Ministry is convinced that Israel will continue these attacks on health care workers unless the international community acts forcefully to condemn and sanction this behaviour.
▪️Public and private hospitals in the Gaza Strip received threatening messages from the Israeli forces if they did not evacuate.
Israeli demands to evacuate hospitals are a violation of international norms and laws. They are also operationally impossible to implement.
▪️Israeli forces deliberately sending threatening messages repeatedly to health facilities suggests that these attacks will not stop.
▪️ Palestinian hospitals in Gaza are no longer a place for patients only, but have become a place of refuge for defenseless displaced civilians who are stranded and cannot find a safe place in the entire Gaza Strip.
▪️ The Ministry affirms that, despite the threats, we are committed to continue performing our health and humanitarian missions. Health care workers will not abandon our patients and wounded civilians, no matter what.
