🚨Statement by the spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ashraf al-Qudra:

During a press conference on the serious repercussions of the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip for the twelfth day

▪️Israeli forces are targeting hospitals. The attack on the Al Ahli Baptist Hospital is an unacceptable breach of international law. It also represents a serious threat to an already exhausted health system.

▪️The death toll of the victims of the Israeli attack on Al Ahli Baptist Hospital is the largest single day death toll in Gaza’s modern history. Confirmed casualties so far include 471 deaths and 314 injuries. 28 patients are in critical condition. These numbers may increase as rescue and identification operations continue on site.

▪️The total number of victims of this war so far is 3,478 killed and 12,065 injured.

▪️ 70% of victims are children, women, and the elderly.

▪️ Of the victims, 433 families have been killed, consisting of 2,421 individuals. Hundreds remain under the rubble.

▪️ The Ministry of Health has received approximately 1,300 reports of missing people under the rubble, including 600 children.

▪️ The Ministry believes there are survivors in the rubble, but the process of reaching them is severely hampered due to constant air strikes and poor capacity.

▪️ The coming hours are critical in terms of providing health services to the sick and injured. The Ministry is alarmed at the continued targeting of health facilities and calls for Israeli forces to immediately halt all attacks on medical and humanitarian infrastructure and personnel.
