According to cancer registry center- PHIC, A total of 3328 cancer cases were registered in Gaza during the period of 2015-2016 with 1478 males (44.3%) and 1851 (55.6%) females.

 Breast cancer is the most prevalent. In the Gaza Strip, the number of breast cancer cases was 684 with a rate of 20.5% of all cancers. Colon cancer, on the other hand, is the most common type among males. The number was 230 with a rate of 15.5% of overall male cancers.

Cancer patients suffer due to shortage of chemotherapy, which is the main component of their treatment protocols. Pharmacy manager of Rantisi Hospital in Gaza warned of the completion of the very essential drugs, which are included in the treatment protocols for colon cancer patients. He stated: “the protocols that include Flux Fox 4, Phil Ferry and Axelox are not available “Cancer has become a threat to patients’ lives who are not receiving treatment, while referral procedures and sending patients abroad for treatment takes long time.” He added.
